CO2, designated as an A1 refrigerant with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1 and zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), possesses exceptional thermophysical properties ideal for refrigeration systems. As a non-proprietary natural refrigerant, CO2 is readily available from local gas suppliers at competitive prices, facilitating its widespread adoption. Moreover, its usage carries no long-term pollution liability, as any leaks can naturally dissipate over time, and remaining charges can be efficiently utilized or reused. With no looming phase-down or phase-out obligations, CO2 emerges as a future-proof solution for refrigeration needs.
