San Diego, CA — [April 25, 2025] — Innovative Cold Storage Enterprises, Inc. (ICE), a premier cold storage provider in San Diego, has been awarded grant funding from the California Energy Commission (CEC) through the Food Production Investment Program (FPIP) to support a major refrigeration system upgrade at its 80,000-square-foot, temperature-controlled facility.
IR PROS will install two packaged low-charge ammonia refrigeration systems, delivering a modern, energy-efficient, and environmentally sustainable solution. This investment will replace the facility’s aging R-22 system and significantly reduce its environmental footprint.
Upon project completion — anticipated by the end of 2025 — ICE’s facility will operate entirely on ammonia, featuring three convertible storage rooms capable of maintaining temperatures ranging from 0°F to +36°F, offering maximum flexibility for diverse cold storage needs.
“We are honored to be part of this transformational project,” said Clark Andrews-IR PROS. “Together with ICE, we are committed to advancing sustainable refrigeration practices that align with California’s clean energy goals.”
This project exemplifies IR Pros’ and ICE’s ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship.
